SAB gets it’s teeth into Transylvanian Brewer
SAB Miller has announced that it has acquired a 71% interest in the Romanian brewer Bere Azuga through it’s Romanian subsidiary Ursus Breweries.
Bere Azuga, which produces the Azuga and Valea Prahovei brands, operates from a single brewery located in the central Transylvanian region of Romania.
Stephan Maria Weber, MD of Ursus Breweries, said: “Ursus Breweries is pleased to add one of the most recognised Romanian brands to its portfolio.”
Azuga has an estimated market share of 0.6%.
