Texas: Health & Safety Officer

Jim Beam Brands Co., producer of the world’s best selling bourbon, is recruiting an Environmental Health and Safety Senior Manager in our Clermont, Kentucky facility. Jim Beam is located in an attractive rural setting 20 minutes south of Louisville, Kentucky off of I-65.

Job responsibilities include managing the water and wastewater treatment plants and coordinating all environmental, health and safety for two plants.

Specific responsibilities:
– Ensure routine operations, documentation and reporting comply with company standards and governmental regulations for Safety, IH, Fire Systems, Security, Worker’s Compensation, Water/Wastewater Treatment Systems, Air Quality and Waste Disposal.
– Minimize processes that affect employee safety and the environment. Develop methods to reduce risk of injury or illness and the generation and discharge of wastes and pollutants into the environment.
– Serve as Environmental Management Representative (EMR) for ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. This includes performing routine audits, maintaining the Compliant Pro database and ensuring the applicable EHS management is properly executed and conforms to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
– Utilize control methods, procedures and processes that are technically sound and economically feasible.
– Lead, facilitate and manage changes to current and future EHS requirements (Regulatory, Fortune Brands, BGSW Corporate, ISO 14001, Factory Mutual, Specialty Risk Services, etc).
– Maintain working knowledge of all EPA, OSHA, DOT and relevant EHS regulations, at both federal and state levels.
– Ensure EHS procedures, report training, documentation and permits are up to date, accurate and audited on a regular basis.
– Develop and implement pollution prevention programs.
– Coordinate special EHS projects as assigned.
– Coordinate routine meetings with EHS team.
– Monitor testing equipment, instrumentation and standard procedures to ensure continuous, accurate, safe and compliant plant operations.
– Ensure appropriate personnel are properly trained and the training is documented in areas regulated by EHS.
– Monitor monthly EHS budget.
– Ensure all EPA required laboratory compliance testing is monitored efficiently and the monthly State water and wastewater reports are accurate and complete.
– Provide quarterly EHS Status Report to the Plant Manager.
– Adheres to and promotes quality, environmental, health and safety as one of the organization’s business priorities.
