The Brewery Operations Management Trainee program is a great opportunity for recent engineering graduates to learn the operations of our organization from the ground up, eventually moving into an operations leadership position in one of our breweries.

This position is responsible for learning and applying the critical core aspects of the value chain, to include the industry, MillerCoors, Operations, and their technical function in order to be placed in a Team Leader or Planner/Controller position upon successful completion of the traineeship program. The key functions of the position are listed below:

Understands and describes the trends and competitive dynamics of the wine, spirit and beer industry. Can describe the competitive challenges for MillerCoors in the beer industry.

Can describe company vision, goals and turnaround strategy and the role of Operations in that strategy; understands the primary goals and workings of all divisions within MillerCoors and can see the link between Operations and the other functions.

Understands the key purpose of Corporate Operations functions and the links to brewery operations and World Class Manufacturing. Can describe the principles, processes, and practices of BRQA, SCOS, Engineering, and Procurement.

Has a detailed understanding of the key purpose of the brewery departments and present their primary challenges. Can describe the primary inputs and outputs of each department and the interrelationship to the trainee’s chosen discipline. Can describe the WCM plan for the brewery, including the guiding principles and work practices.

Understands the principles of their functional area design and operation, and demonstrate knowledge of packaging line or brewing area management to meet customer requirements, including all safety, health and environmental requirements.

Understands and applies WCM principles, work practices and structured communication. Demonstrates a basic understanding of machine and equipment processes, operational standards, and SOP’s. Understands the raw materials and utilities required to manufacture and package beer. Understands asset management philosophy and can demonstrate proficiency with asset planning systems.
