Baltika launches in Vietnam

Baltika strengthens its position in Asia

Baltika Breweries have dispatched its first shipment of Baltika № 7 Export beer in 0.33-litre bottles and 0.5-litre cans bound for Vietnam. Already in early May, Vietnamese beer lovers will be able to try the famous beer from Russia. Delivery is being made by sea from St. Petersburg to the Vietnamese port of Haiphong.

Baltika thus becomes the only Russian beer on sale in Vietnam. It will be sold only in the capital, Hanoi, as well as in the country’s largest city, Ho Chi Minh City and the resort of Danang. The distributor of Baltika beer in Vietnam is D&T Airline Trading and Travel Co. Ltd.

Baltika № 7 will be positioned in the premium segment. The average price of a 0.5-litre can will be 35,000 Vientamese dongs (more than $2.00).

Konstantin Sabelnikov, Sales Executive for the Countries of the Asia Pacific Region at Baltika Breweries: ‘Today Vietnam is implementing an active policy of integration into the world economy and is interested in drawing into the country’s market high quality European goods and services. Baltika beer occupies the leading position on the Russian market and has officially been named the № 1 beer in Europe by sales volume -and this is what determined the decision of our Vietnamese partners in favour of Baltika.’

Vietnam is one of the fastest growing beer markets in Southeast Asia. Since 2001, the volume of the Vietnamese beer market more than doubled and in 2008 it amounted to 19 million hectoliters, while the level of consumption reached 22 litres per capita (Canadean).

Baltika Breweries is conducting an active export programme in the Asia Pacific Region.
