Perform analytical testing of wines (in-process and finished) and raw materials and monitor quality control in high throughput laboratory.

This position does not have direct reports

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Perform chemical analyses of wines (and juices) using a variety of methods, including titration, distillation, enzymatic chemistry, and other specialized methods.
• Perform (if required by site) bench-scale trials, including preparation of trial blends, stability testing, filterability testing, color evaluations, fining trials, acid and sugar series.
• Collects requested samples when required.
• Maintain and troubleshoot diverse and complex laboratory instruments.
• Prepare chemical reagents and contribute to general housekeeping of laboratory.
• Responsible for sample collection and proper preparation for all required analysis
• Accurately transcribe lab results to appropriate forms or databases.
• Calculate wine treatments and perform additions for winemaking staff if requested.
• Maintain the chemical and glassware inventories and place orders to sustain adequate supplies at all times.
