Oregon: Direct Sales Manager


We are a premium Oregon Pinot noir producer with a reputation for producing high quality wines, seeking a Direct Sales Manager. Position incorporates responsibility for all direct sales at the winery, including managing the tasting room, e-commerce, hospitality events and growth of our wine club. The primary focus of the position will be to create customer loyalty and substantially increase direct sales. In addition, the position includes assisting the National Sales Manager to increase the winery’s visibility and sales volume in select markets across the U.S.

Essential Duties:

Hire, manage, train and supervise tasting room employees; maintain proper staffing for tasting room

Motivate tasting room staff to meet direct sales goals

Manage direct sales numbers; assure that tasting room meets monthly sales goals

Manage mailings and email correspondence with direct mail customers; build customer loyalty with focused, personalized communication where appropriate. Maintain and enhance the winery’s reputation with longstanding customers.

Manage and grow existing wine club

Coordinate and implement all winery events, include industry-focused events like Oregon Pinot Camp and the International Pinot Noir Celebration; also consumer events including Memorial Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Weekend, and semi-annual wine club events.

Coordinate winery visits by local restaurants and wine industry participants

Work market regionally (Oregon, Washington, Northern California where necessary) to build relationships

Act as a Sales Assistant to National Sales Manager, including some travel to East Coast, Southeast, and other U.S. markets as necessary

Research/recommend other sales opportunities

Write and adhere to a marketing/events calendar

Review and determine participation in key tasting events.
