UK: Apprentice CopperSmiths

Did you know that 25% of all whisky consumed globally is made in Scotland? To help us do that, we have the largest Scotch whisky bottling plant in the world.
That’s a lot of bottles. In fact that’s a lot of whisky.
Diageo is the world’s leading premium drinks business with an unrivalled collection of brands including Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Baileys and Guinness. We employ over 22,000 talented people worldwide with offices in around 80 countries. In Scotland, we have over 4,000 people based across almost 50 sites all helping to produce in excess of 65million cases of spirits a year.
We like to think big. Hopefully you do too.
About The Opportunity
To help us continue to grow and remain successful, and as part of our continued investment in our business in Scotland, we are looking for a number of people with the required enthusiasm and potential to join our four-year Coppersmith apprenticeship programme.
The overall purpose of this role is to deliver copper and engineering projects that will ensure the continued production of whisky and other spirit products within Diageo. Copper is integral to the production of whisky: the craft and skill in fabricating and maintaining copper stills is paramount to Diageo. To enable us to deliver our goals, it is essential that we develop the skills of coppersmiths and ensure they are retained within our business.
By undertaking and successfully completing the modern apprenticeship SVQ Level 3, you will have the opportunity to work towards attaining a relevant HNC qualification through on/off job training. You’ll get to work across a variety of different sites and environments while continuing to develop your skills.
