Royal Brewery first produced beer in 1800’s. Today the site  produces 3.2 million hectolitres of beer and some of our key brands include Fosters and Kronenbourg. We are a strategic part of the business within the UK due to our growth and success of our brands and future plans within Heineken.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Team Member to join our existing team based at Royal Brewery, Manchester. Your role will be to carry out laboratory analysis, interpret data and maintain equipment within all the laboratories. The role involves shift work.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the key responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:
To develop, maintain and adhere to all Health and Safety systems within the labs

Collection of lab samples

Analysis of product, raw materials and services using microbiological, analytical and sensory techniques

Interpretation and reporting of all results

Maintenance and calibration of equipment

To ensure that all tasters required by the site are screened, trained and quality assured

To carry out relevant analysis to support projects and trials

Identify adverse trends as appropriate

Generate KPI data

To train and audit production teams who carry out part of the sampling schedule and identify training needs

To be involved in the audit schedule both internal and external to the site

We are looking for someone who preferably has a science based degree and is able to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge, combined with relevant experience in a laboratory environment either in brewing or in a related industry. The successful candidate should work well as part of a team, have a strong eye for detail and good communication skills. You should also demonstrate a logical approach as well as the ability to plan and organise your own workload.
