Diageo purchases the US Cocktail Mixer Company Stirrings

gilmacleanandbillcreelman-of-stirringsDiageo has purchased cocktail mixer company Stirrings LLC for an undisclosed amount.

Diageo, known for premium brands like Ketel One vodka, Baileys and Captain Morgan, had held a 20 percent stake in the company before the transaction.

Stirrings Chief Executive Bob Swartz will remain with the company and head up commercial business and liquid development. Founders Gil Maclean and Bill Creelman will also stay on as consultants.

Stirrings has more than 50 products including premium mixers, cocktail garnishes and bar ingredients such as grenadine and was founded in 1997.
