Radeberger to build new Brewery for Binding Pils

radeberger-logoThe Radeberger Group, Germany’s largest private brewery group, announced on Wednesday that it decided to construct the new brewery for its subsidiary Binding Brewery in Bad Vilbel, a city in the north of Frankfurt. The contract between the two negotiating parties, Radeberger and the city of Bad Vilbel, followed an intensive search for a new location in the city of Frankfurt. Radeberger had been searching for a new, expanded location for its Binding brewery, currently operating in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen, and a new place for its headquater since last year. Now the group agreed with the town of Bad Vilbel on the purchase of an area in the north of the business park ” Im Quellenpark”. The brewing group will build a highly efficient new brewery, a bottling center, a logistic center as well as their new national headquarter in Bad Vilbel. The construction will be terminated in 2012.

Dr. Albert Christmann, CEO of the Radeberger Group, and Thomas Stöhr, Mayor of Bad Vilbel, both said they are satisfied with the contract.

The offer of Bad Vilbel accomplished against lots of competitor’s offers from other surrounding areas of Frankfurt. Dr. Christmann said, “The offer from Bad Vilbel simply meets almost all the demands we have to our new site.“ The new area, with a size of more than 22 ha, has a very well transport connection. The planning permission can be recieved quickly.

Background Information
Radeberger must leave its current site in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen, where the Binding Brewery is located since almost 140 years, because of a new development plan for the adjacent residential areas close to the brewery site. The brewery group initially focused its search to city of Frankfurt for six months but then enlarged its search in early February 2009 to the whole Rhein-Main region.
