Texas State Capitol honours 100 years of Shiner Beers

The Spoetzl Brewery, of Shiner, Texas, brewers of the legendary Shiner family of beers, was honored at the Texas State Capitol in commemoration of its Centennial Anniversary. The “little brewery in Shiner” was recognized both in the House and Senate by Representative Geanie Morrison and Senator Glenn Hegar respectively.

The Spoetzl brewery was represented by Jimmy Mauric, Brewmaster, and Carlos Alvarez, President and owner. Both were very excited and honored to be part of this historical event. “It’s so exciting to be part of this milestone for the Spoetzl Brewery and the family of Shiner Beers,” said Jimmy Mauric. “Every day we wake up and go to work striving to brew beer that our customers, friends and family will enjoy. It’s amazing to think that we’ve been doing it at this brewery for 100 years now.”

Spoetzl, one of America’s oldest independent breweries, has been brewing its beers in the small town of Shiner, TX (pop. 2,070) for over 100 years. Shiner Bock has grown to be one of America’s best-selling craft beers and every drop of Shiner is still handcrafted by a small group of 56 folks right where it all started in 1909. Shiner beers are now available in 39 states.
