UK: Account Development Managers


The role of the Account Development Manager is to support increasing the distribution of our brands a regional level.  This is achieved by developing key relationships within wholesalers, leased/tenanted and regional brewer customers middle managers / outlet and 3rd party sales forces.  Account Development Managers are expected to train and develop 3rd party sales teams in the knowledge and understanding of our brands in line with our outlet classification system (known internally as (CLOC).

They are responsible for managing draught process /installations/wholesaler & leased tenanted quality program along with negotiating and implementing point of purchase (POP) activation across outlets and depots.

Key Accountabilities include

  • Weekly customer call responsibility

a. 4 days per week with customers
b. 1 day per week Admin/Reporting/Preparation/Training/Meeting SDM
• Create and implement activity plan for key customers in line with Channel Activity Plan. Agree with NAM/NAC/SDM and present/agree through the customers structure
• Manage the budget spend through account TI and A&P in line with agreed rates as dictated by NAM/NAC/SDM
• Activation process in line with sales drivers (Quality , Availability , Visibility , Pricing , Advocacy & Activation
• Working in conjunction with the account manager/controller to present and gain commitment through account regional offices , outlets and depots
• Work with the customers marketing and sales team to brief customer organisation.
• Monitor and evaluate activity and share best practice within RTM and the wider MBUK team
• Ensure best practice and cost effectiveness by tailoring a channel activity program to individual customer needs
• Manage quality and dispense program with key wholesalers and leased tenanted key accounts in line with brand guidelines.
