UK: Service – Planning Coordinator


To communicate effectively with depot team, the CSC, telesales and customers regarding all aspects of service and route planning.
• To ensure H&S, O Licence and any other legislative requirements are being met as part of the planning of routes
• To provide route planning services, optimising costs and service performance.
To ensure plans are delivered in a timely manor, enhancing depot operational performance.
• To regularly review route plans with the Transport Manager and National Planning Co-ordinator. Investigate planned vs actual performance and focus on continuous improvement to ensure the plans are of the highest quality.
• To work with the depot teams to review plans, customer service and performance. To gather feedback from the crews (through de-brief) and depot management teams to identify and deliver areas of improvement.

  • To maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.

To monitor the Depot Planning mailboxes and resolve all planning related queries.
• To work with National Planning Co-ordinator on Smoothing Requests and produce a list of delivery days and time windows changes that will optimise the efficiency of the route plan.
• To carry out data alignment exercises on a regular basis to confirm that Dips and DeMon values are aligned and that planned and actual road speeds are as close as possible.
• Be the main point of contact regarding the set up/closure of accounts. Liaise with Accounts and depot risk assessors to ensure all related activities are communicated to enable successful and speedy activation of customer accounts.

  • To support strategic analysis as and when required.

• To assist in the facilitation of management information that is related to Transport KPIs. In particular for ‘On Time’ and productivity measures.
• To allocate delivery resource to the planned work in line with NPA guidelines, Working Time Directive and EU Drivers Regulations. Ensure overtime is minimised and that there are no under-utilised hours.
• To monitor attended hours against planned work, investigate discrepancies and highlight offenders to depot management.
