Beam Global to launch Teacher’s variant in India

manreadingWith an eye on strengthening its foothold in the Indian market, the world’s fourth largest spirits company, Beam Global Spirits & Wine Inc, will globally launch its new Scotch whisky in India.

“The global launch of Teacher’s Origin (in India) shows our commitment to the Indian market,” Beam Global Spirits & Wine India Pvt Ltd CEO & MD Harish Moolchandani told PTI.

The new addition called the ‘Teacher’s Origin’ will be exclusively available in India for at least a year before being launched in other international markets, he said.

The whisky will cost Rs 1660 for 750 ml in the capital. Incidentally, its only the third time in over a hundred years that a variant of the Teacher’s brand is being launched worldwide.

“The launch of Teacher’s Origin further strengthens the Teacher’s Scotch whisky portfolio in India, which forms the core of Beam Global’s market share in India,” he added

Moolchandani said, the company which expects revenue to cross Rs 500 crore in the current year in India, plans to bring more brands in the market.

Beam Global has already brought brands like DYC and Bourbon along with single-malt whisky Ardmore Scotch in the Indian market.

The Teacher’s brand accounts for over 80 per cent of the company’s sales in India and is also the largest selling Scotch whisky in the domestic market. It expects to sell around 2.7 lakh cases of Teachers in India this year.
