Kentucky: Landscape and Grounds Supervisor


This job reports to the Home place Manager

Relocation is negotiable and travel is not required.

Buffalo Trace Distillery is a family-owned company based in Franklin County, Kentucky. The distillery’s rich distilling tradition dates back to 1787. Buffalo Trace is a fully operational distillery producing bourbon, rye, and vodka on site, and is listed on the National Historic Register. Buffalo Trace has been awarded seven distillery titles since 2000 from such notable publications as Whisky Magazine, Malt Advocate Magazine and Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Buffalo Trace has also garnered more than 170 awards for its wide range of premium whiskies. The distillery is part of the Sazerac family of companies.

Job Skills/Requirements:
Under the direction of the Home place Manager; the Field Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operation of grounds maintenance to ensure the grounds at Buffalo Trace are always in show condition. This position will develop and supervise sixteen union employees and coordinate employee training and development including the development of a horticultural training manual. The Field Supervisor will also be responsible for assisting with seasonal landscape planning, and will manage data entry into the computer system.
The successful candidate will have a minimum education level of undergraduate degree in horticulture, agriculture or related field; will possess excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills; and will have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Prefer candidates with a record of successful leadership experience in a union environment supervising ambulatory employees.
