Washington: Assistant Manager


The Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for assisting the Winery Manager in daily operations, overseeing the daily functions of the tasting room and profitability of the tasting room. The Assistant Manager reports to the Winery Manager.

Duties include all aspects of hiring, training, managing tasting room staff, as well as providing them with ongoing education that will enhance their effectiveness as salespeople. The Assistant Manager is also responsible for managing all wine inventory, merchandise inventory, implementing sales and merchandising programs to increase sales as well as running and analyzing the reporting functions associated with the business. The Assistant Manager will coordinate and/or execute all private parties and other special events. Some evenings and weekends are required.

Position responsible for, but not limited to:
– Manages the tasting room and special events
– Manage tasting room staff to ensure consistent, exceptional customer service
– Hire and train tasting room staff and provide ongoing wine and wine service education
– Create weekly schedule for staff ensuring adequate support for special events
– Oversee opening and closing procedures
– Manage wine and merchandise inventory, creating inventory reports on a monthly basis, ordering as necessary and making recommendations for future purchases
– Vendor management to insure Olsen Estates is receiving fair pricing
– Implement sales programs to increase tasting room sales
– Oversee wine club operations
– Oversee wine club marketing, promotions and expansion
– All daily, weekly, and monthly in house reporting
– All State and Federal reporting and compliance
– Participate in Prosser Vintner’s Village meetings
– Assist the Winery Manager with day-to-day operations
– Oversee Wine Club Administrator
– Other duties may be assigned or modified
