S&N to produce four million new glasses by the end of next year

Millions of new Foster’s glasses are being produced which will show alcohol unit information for the first time.

Scottish & Newcastle (S&N) aims to send out 1.8 million of the glasses by March with a total of four million planned to be in pubs and clubs by the end 2010.

The glasses are the first produced by S&N to carry unit information and more are planned for other brands.

Mark Given, S&N UK brands director, said: “This is the biggest branded glassware initiative ever undertaken on our biggest-selling brand.

“Foster’s has long been at the forefront of dispense innovation and we wanted to create a glass to complement the brand’s unrivalled draught credentials.”

He added: “We will begin with Foster’s and progressively introduce alcohol unit information on branded glassware for our other beer and cider brands during 2010.”

The new glassware will be shown on the end frame of Foster’s TV advertisements from this month and promoted to consumers in outlet via posters.
