Miller Brands Continues To Grow


SABMiller has announced that its UK operation, Miller Brands, is continuing to grow despite the overall decline in market sales of premium lager.

Miller Brands increased its share of UK premium lager by 16 per cent in the six months to the end of September, according to AC Nielsen.

Nick Miller, managing director of Miller Brands, said: “Our success is due in no small part to the integrity and desirability of our brands and we are determined that we won’t sacrifice this for the sake of incremental volumes.”

He added that the company aims to continue to build different brands, delivering a “top quality drinking experience” for its consumers.

SABMiller has around 200 brands worldwide, including premium international beers such as Pilsner Urquell, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Grolsch as well as leading local brands such as Aguila, Castle, Miller Lite, Snow and Tyskie.

Mr Miller said the company is conducting research in the UK to assess whether one of SABMiller’s brands from a market elsewhere in the world could enjoy success in Britain.
