PepsiCo has made the 2009 Global Top Companies for Leaders list.

Winners were selected by a panel of expert judges who looked for a number of criteria, including whether companies remained committed to building leadership capability despite the economic downturn.

Cynthia Trudell, chief personnel officer, PepsiCo, said: “In a competitive global economy, our employees are our most crucial resource. Now more than ever, it’s critical that we sharpen our focus on talent development and ensure that PepsiCo is among the top destinations for the world’s best people.”

The Global Top Companies for Leaders Study is conducted by Hewitt Associates in partnership with The RBL Group and Fortune.

It includes 537 organisations with an average employee size of over 31,000.

Some 65 per cent of the participating companies had revenues of at least $100 million (£60.5 million).

Also to make the list were technology company IBM, and Procter and Gamble, which manufacturers product ranges including personal care, household cleaning, laundry detergents, prescription drugs and disposable nappies.
