Pernod Ricard Opens First Branded Store In Armenia


Pernod Ricard, a well-known French producer of alcoholic drinks has opened its first branded retail store in the Armenian capital Yerevan, the company has told.

According to Pernod Ricard Armenia CEO Alexander Kazarian, the Armenian branch was founded just a year ago in order to represent famous Perno’s brands in the local market.

He also added that their popularity in Armenia is steadily increasing especially in case of such brands as Chivas Scotch, Jameson Irish whiskey, Olmeca tequila, Absolut Vodka.

According to Kazarian, currently Pernod Ricard is represented in such former Soviet states as Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia and the Baltic countries. The company’s presence in Armenia began with the purchase of the Yerevan Cognac Factory in 1998.

Meanwhile during the opening ceremony of the new store the director of the Yerevan Cognac Factory (YBC) Ara Grigoryan said that the new store in Yerevan will be more experimental rather than commercial project of the company.
