Procurement Jobs Provider Tells Retailers That Bigger Is Better At Christmas


A Soft drinks expert has said that the best way to rake in the profits at Christmas is to stock the biggest sizes.

Murray Harris, customer management director at Britvic, told the Grocer that stores will see the largest sizes of soft drinks flying off the shelves during the imminent Christmas shopping frenzy.

He told the Grocer that stocking two litre bottles of the major carbonated soft drinks was imperative for any independent retailer.

“With the exception of sports drinks, sales for all major sub-categories in impulse become more dependent on bigger pack sizes at Christmas time, so it’s vital for retailers to be well stocked up to ensure their customers don’t shop elsewhere,” he said.

And Vimto head of marketing Neil Gibson agreed, saying that now is the time for retailers to focus on larger units of products.
