USA: Sanitation Specialist


As a member of the plant Quality Team, the Sanitation Specialist is responsible for implementing and monitoring policies, procedures, and training programs for the support of the site GMP and sanitation programs. As a vital member of the team, this specific position will focus primarily on:

  • Overall managing of the sanitation program, sanitation equipment and systems in functional, sanitary and safe working conditions while meeting all regulatory requirements
  • Developing and maintaining site sanitation policies and procedures in compliance with the Diageo North America GMP/Sanitation policies
  • Management of the curriculum and training of employees on GMP/Sanitation
  • Providing the site with expertise in industry Food Safety and Compliance practices and Diageo Food Safety and Compliance policies
  • Conducting regular sanitation audits of products, equipment and facility for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
  • Preparation of audit reports outlining inspection results, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.¬†Demonstrated problem solving and corrective action execution skills.
  • Oversight of HACCP prerequisite programs including pest control activities and site cleaning services
  • Management of third party relationships with the sanitation chemical vendors
  • Development and maintenance of the sanitation master cleaning schedule for the plant, both interior and exterior
  • Management of the microbiological programs for monitoring sanitation for the site, including water quality

Management Responsibilities

This position reports to the Quality Team Leader, HACCP Champion.   They will be expected to contribute their technical expertise of GMP/Sanitation practices to address items for plant operations and participate in cross-functional work-teams.
