Absolut’s potato vodka

The creators of Absolut Vodka are bringing a vodka made from new potatoes over to the UK.
Karlsson’s Gold, which is made from young potatoes that have not formed their skins, is described by the company as “the first luxury vodka that can sincerely boast its own terroir”. The potatoes are grown in Sweden’s Cape Bjäre, home of the country’s highest-quality new potatoes.

“I have always wanted to honour Sweden’s vodka heritage by creating a classic potato vodka,” said master blender Borje Karlsson. “Using the finest potatoes from Cape Bjäre, I have been able to honour both my homeland’s vodka heritage and that of its superb potato farmers.”

The drink, which, like Absolut, has an iconic bottle, is available to the on-trade via Fluid Brands.
