Board of directors And Management Advisory committee for Pepsi Lipton International JV Announced


Representing PepsiCo International as board directors are:

  • Chief Marketing Officer Beverages – PepsiCo International, Antonio Lucio
  • Chief Financial Officer – PepsiCo International, Richard Goodman
  • President Asia – PepsiCo International, Ron McEachern

Representing Unilever as board directors are:

  • BG President – Global RTD Beverage Group, Unilever Bestfoods, Rachid M Rachid
  • Senior Vice President Beverage, Unilever Bestfoods, Sanjay Khosla
  • Operations Director – Global RTD Beverage Group, Unilever Bestfoods, David F Jones

The management advisory committee of the JV will be made up of:

Albert Baladi has been assigned to supervise the general management of the JV. Albert joined PepsiCo 10 years ago and has extensive international experience in global brand building and setting up new businesses.

Mark Lollback, Brand Development Director, Continental & Lipton, Unilever Australasia, has been assigned to supervise the marketing activities of the JV. Mark is a very experienced marketer and business leader with a long-standing track record in Unilever.

Marcel Lebon, VP Finance Unilever Foods Division, has been assigned to supervise the financial management of the JV. Marcel has extensive international experience in finance and operations.

The joint venture Pepsi Lipton International is a 50-50% JV between Unilever and PepsiCo International for the marketing and distribution of Lipton RTD Tea in selected international markets. It will enable Lipton to accelerate its growth, building on its current leading share of the 16 billion litres global RTD tea market.

The joint venture will leverage the strengths of both parents to create significant value. It will principally sell RTD tea concentrate to franchise bottlers, thus augmenting Pepsi’s portfolio of healthy refreshment beverages.

As the world’s largest tea producer, Unilever will bring the brand, world-class knowledge of tea and its research and development capability to the JV; Pepsi will contribute access to its extensive bottling and distribution network with strong customer relations, and beverage know-how.

Unilever is one of the world’s largest consumer products companies with annual sales in excess of €48 billion.  It produces and markets a wide range of foods and home and personal care products, its internationally known brands including Lipton, Knorr, Hellmann’s, Dove, Axe, and Surf.  It operates in 150 countries and employs some 247,000 people worldwide.

PepsiCo is one the world’s largest food and beverage companies, with annual revenues of $25 billion. Its principal businesses include Frito-Lay snacks, Pepsi-Cola beverages, Gatorade sports drinks, Tropicana juices and Quaker foods.  PepsiCo’s portfolio includes 15 brands that each generate $1 billion or more in annual retail sales.
