Brewery Re-launches Home Delivery Service

A brewery in Walsall (UK) has re-launched a UK-wide home delivery service with the view of boosting profits, creating jobs and increasing foot flow in its pubs.

John Davenport, an ex-milkman, started delivering beer to his customers’ doors in 1904 but this was stopped in 1989.

Now that deliveries have recommenced, customers can order the brewery’s products online.

Speaking to the Express and Star, Stu Baker, marketing manager at Highgate & Davenports Brewery, said: “We are very excited about the prospect of re-launching Beer at Home.

“With the current market showing growth in the off trade, we feel that offering our drinkers an all-round experience of the brand is key to growing our existing market share across the board.”

He added that he did not know how much the turnover could be from this new venture but said that he hopes the service will not only increase sales through the website, but increase the brand’s exposure and encourage people to buy the brand in licensed shops and pubs.
