PepsiCo To Open A New Healthy Beverage Research Laboratory

PepsiCo is opening a new research laboratory in America to develop healthier beverages.

The new laboratory is to be located opposite Yale School of Medicine’s campus in New Haven, and a team of clinical scientists and experts in nutrition, food safety and health policy are to work on developing health beverage solutions.

“Ultimately, we’re trying to make it easier for consumers to lead healthier lifestyles,” said Dr Mehmood Khan, PepsiCo’s chief scientific officer and an endocrinologist.

“We’re confident that the work we’ll be doing in New Haven, in collaboration with some of the world’s best scientists, will lead to advancements in nutrition and health for people across the globe,” he added.

The company already has four research centres in the United States and more in the United Kingdom, Mexico, China and India.

Earlier this week, PepsiCo reached an agreement with Dr Pepper Snapple Group to distribute some of its brands, including Dr Pepper, Crush and Canada Dry in America, Canada and Mexico.
