San Miguel Brewery Looking For Growth After $300m Beer Deal
San Miguel Brewery has reaffirmed that it is looking to grow across Asia, after announcing that it will buy the international beer unit of parent San Miguel Corp for $300m. Under the deal, SMB will fully acquire San Miguel Brewing International Ltd, funding the deal through external debt.
SMB said the deal allows it to expand its “footprint to a bigger and broader platform in Southeast Asia and China and potential access to Kirin’s platform in other developed and emerging markets in Asia”. SMB is partly-owned by Japan’s Kirin Holdings.
