Year of the Tiger for Heineken UK

Heineken UK is launching two new advertising campaigns for its Tiger beer brand ahead of the Chinese Year of the Tiger in 2010.

The first campaign with the strapline “In the year of the Tiger, what else would you drink?'” will launch in January while the second campaign, featuring a new Tiger Girl character, will launch a month later ahead of Chinese New Year celebrations, which fall in February.

The company will also be sponsoring events in the Chinatowns of Manchester, Newcastle and London and has designed PoS material of bars in key areas to help the on-trade make the most of the event.

“Chinese New Year is a great opportunity to raise the profile of Tiger,” said Jason Wills, Senior Brand Manager. “It also provides licensees with a product that delivers greater profit margins and the activity planned for Chinese New Year will boost awareness of the brand in key cultural locations,” he added.
