A-B InBev says U.K. pint price going up
Better start saving up to buy Stella Artois in London. Anheuser-Busch InBev said the wholesale price of all its drink products in the United Kingdom will jump 4p a pint (about 6 U.S. cents) beginning Feb. 1, according to a report in The Publican.
The company blamed the rises on “continuing difficult market conditions and a challenging economic climate.”
The move comes after Heineken UK said prices would rise 4p on beer as of Feb. 1. Guinness producer Diageo also said the recommended retail price of a pint would rise 10p to £3.03 on February 1. Carlsberg and Molson Coors had yet to reveal details of any price increases.
