Dr Pepper Offers Fans Exclusive Gaming Content

Dr Pepper fans now have access to the exclusive content of certain computer games, thanks to a new marketing programme with Electronic Arts Incorporated (EA).

Consumers who buy 20-ounce bottles of Dr Pepper can download new content in EA games including Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Mass Effect 2, Spore and The Sims 3.

Virtual clothes for Sims characters can be accessed as can body parts for Spore creatures.

“Dr Pepper’s decision to partner with EA is an investment that will bring a lot of value to their brand and to their consumers,” said Elizabeth Harz, senior vice-president of global media sales for EA.

Tony Jacobs, vice-president of marketing at Dr Pepper, said that the game enhancements will “elevate” players’ experience of the games and “create brand affinity”.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the Dr Pepper Snapple Group is to advertise for the first time at this year’s Super Bowl.
