Florida International University (FIU) is to sell only Pepsi beverages on its campus after signing an agreement with Pepsi Bottling Group.

The five-year, multimillion dollar deal, which gives Pepsi exclusivity of pouring and marketing rights, is renewable for up to nine years.

Pepsi Bottling Group’s brands include Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist and Lipton Iced Tea.

“This new partnership will provide great exposure for FIU by joining efforts with Pepsi in creating marketing initiatives that brand the university within the local community,” said assistant vice-president for Business Services Jeff Krablin, who oversaw the bidding process and helped to negotiate the contract.

The group will now sponsor the university’s athletic program, so it will advertise at all FIU athletic facilities.

It will also help to promote the university’s green initiatives by installing new energy efficient vending machines on all campuses.

Last month, Pepsi Bottling Group Canada’s president Linda Kuga Pikulin was selected by Women’s Executive Network as one of the 100 most powerful women in Canada.
