PepsiCo To Donate $1m And Products To Earthquake Victims

PepsiCo is to donate $1 million (£611,920) and a variety of products to the earthquake victims in Haiti.

The company said that, as well as the financial support, it is to donate Quaker products, bottled water and Gatorade through its bottlers in Florida and the Dominican Republic.

Half of the money donated will be shared between the American Red Cross, Save the Children and Friends of the World Food Program.

The remaining $500,000 of the donation will be used to fund reconstruction in the country.

It will help to strengthen Haiti’s infrastructure, which will limit any damage sustained in future disasters.

Last week, the Coca-Cola Foundation announced that it had donated $1 million to the American Red Cross to assist with emergency relief efforts in Haiti, where the company has sold its products since 1927.

Coca-Cola’s bottling partner in the Dominican Republic is also donating water and Coca-Cola beverages to people in Haiti.
