JD Wetherspoon has completed the acquisition of one of the dozen 3D Entertainment sites it has lined up.

It has bought the Chicago Rock Cafe site in Stourbridge, West Midlands. The company already operates a Lloyd’s Number One bar on the town’s High Street.

The company is yet to fix an opening date for the new pub, which will launch under the Wetherspoon brand.

A spokesman from JD Wetherspoon said: “This will compliment our existing outlet in the town, we will be keeping our existing venue which has been very successful, which is why we were looking for another site.

“We are pleased to have purchased a good site in the town.”

Wetherspoon has agreed to buy a dozen sites from 3D Entertainment subject to landlords agreeing to drop rents by 20% to 30% in a deal worth around £4m.
