Hall & Woodhouse Ends Pubco Contracts

Dorset brewer Hall & Woodhouse is ending its supply contacts with other pub operators to make its beer unique to its pubs.

Contracts with pubcos have been brought to an end from February this year, the Morning Advertiser has learnt.

Hall & Woodhouse tenanted director Matt Kearsey said: “We only supply our cask ales to our own pubs. You won’t get them anywhere else, apart from our managed or tenanted pubs. We think it adds a point of difference.”

A company spokesman denied rumours that ending the contracts were linked to tensions that have surfaced between family brewers and big pubcos over the beer tie.

He said: “It’s nothing to do with falling out with anybody.”
