Australian beer Coopers ale has joined the Bibendum portfolio.
The beer company, which has a significant cult following in the UK, will be distributed exclusively by Bibendum, which will market its Coopers Pale Ale and Sparkling Ale in all channels, reports Harpers Wine and Spirit.
Bibendum spirits and beer manager Nick Rodgers said: “Coopers is a fantastic family-run brewery and its ales enjoy a brilliant reputation in the UK drinks trade. We are delighted they have joined forces with Bibendum and look forward to working with them to increase distribution and brand awareness amongst discerning beer drinkers.”
He added that the popularity of real ales and speciality beers, and Coopers, which is marketed as “the beer the wine trade chooses” is perfectly poised to take advantage of this.
The popularity of real ale among UK consumers has been highlighted by the fact that tickets to this summer’s Great British Beer Festival are up by 32 per cent on last year, according to a report from the Morning Advertiser.
