Brewer Modelo Arbitration vs Anheuser Continues

Mexican brewer Grupo Modelo is continuing its U.S. arbitration case against partner Anheuser-Busch, a process that could come to an end early next year, daily El Universal said on Wednesday. Modelo began arbitration against Budweiser maker Anheuser- Busch in October last year after the U.S. company was acquired by Inbev NV, a deal that created the world's largest beer brewer. "Everything seems to suggest that the conclusion of this process will take place in early 2010," a business columnist in El Universal daily said, without naming sources. [...more]

Stella and Beck’s Lite Push AB InBev up

The introduction of lower-strength variants of Stella Artois and Beck’s drove double-digit volume growth of both lager brands in the UK, according to third-quarter figures from Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s biggest brewer. InBev UK reported a 3.7 per cent increase in volumes of its own beers in the third quarter, compared with a 1.9 per cent fall for the first nine months as a whole, as its three flagship brands — Stella, Beck’s and Budweiser — all grew by at least 10 per cent. AB-InBev Q3 results better than expected

Anheuser-Busch InBev has reported better-than-expected profit figures for its third quarter, as cost cuts and price hikes helped offset declining sales of its Budweiser and Bud Light brands.
