Dr Pepper Snapple Group Names Ellen CFO

Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. has announced that Martin M. Ellen will join the company as executive vice president and chief financial officer on April 1, 2010. In addition to his strong background in finance, Ellen will bring considerable experience in franchising, operations and the beverage industry. At DPS, he will be responsible for the company's finance and IT organizations and will report to Larry Young, president and chief executive officer. He will succeed John O. Stewart, who last year announced his plans to retire on March 31, 2010. "Marty's extensive public company experience and involvement in strategy and operations, as well as finance, will bring valuable perspective to our executive leadership team as we continue to build on DPS's position as the industry leader in flavored beverages," Young said. Dr Pepper To Advertise In Super Bowl

Dr Pepper Snapple Group Incorporated (US) is advertising for the first time at this year's Super Bowl. The group will advertise its Dr Pepper Cherry carbonated beverage in the breaks between the championship game, which is to air on February 7th. Speaking to Dallas News, Jim Trebilcock, chief marketing officer at Dr Pepper, said: "This is the first time for the mother-ship. We want to take advantage of having [nearly] 100 million viewers to gain awareness and trial around Cherry Dr Pepper." Gene Simmons from the classic rock band Kiss is to feature in the advert. The group claims Dr Pepper to be the oldest major soft drink in the United States. It originated at Morrison's Old Corner Drug Store in the town of Waco in 1885. Last month, Dr Pepper Snapple Group announced that it had agreed to license some of its brands to PepsiCo, Incorporated once PepsiCo had completed its proposed acquisitions of The Pepsi Bottling Group, Incorporated and PepsiAmericas, Incorporated. Dr Pepper Unit Ready To Hire Its First 90 Employees

Dr Pepper Snapple Group, which has been building a $120 million factory at the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville to make beverages and distribute them, will be hiring the first 90 of 200 jobs there. The jobs are described as forklift operators, warehouse positions, materials handlers and quality control technicians -- and more -- according to a statement from the city of Victorville. The facility, once finished in early 2010, will be 850,000 square feet on 57 acres. [...more]
