Largest Ever Seasonal Ale Range For Greene King

Greene King has unveiled its largest ever range of seasonal ales for the year ahead. The Suffolk brewer will be offering up 14 brews - some new and some old - in addition to its 10 permanent ales. In addition to a monthly seasonal ale, there will also be a Head Brewer's Choice cask ale released each quarter. February kicked off with Old Bob (5.1% abv), which is a spicy, fruity premium cask ale. Next up in March will be the crisp and bitter Hare Raiser (4.1% abv). [...more]

Greene King Pub Partners’ MD Retires

Managing director of Greene King's tenanted pub division Pub Partners, David Elliott, is retiring. He will be succeeded by Simon Longbottom. Elliott has been with with Greene King for 11 years and and has spent more than 25 years in the industry. During his time at Pub Partners, he has overseen significant growth - from 620 to more than 1,300 tenanted pubs and from 32m of operating profit in 1998 to 71m in 2008-09. He will stay with Greene King until 31 January when he will also stand down from the board. [...more]

The winning beer will go on sale in pubs from 20 October and the successful ‘brewer’ will see their name – plus the name they've given for the brand – on pump clips in bars throughout the country. Entrants to the Brew us a Flavour competition will be invited to choose the aroma, taste, colour and alcoholic content of their beer. Entry forms will be available in hundreds of Greene King pubs from today and throughout the whole of July.
