Coca-Cola India has partnered with Goa Football Association (GFA) to organise The Coca-Cola Celebration Cup - a grassroots level championship aimed at discovering young promising footballers in Goa.
A special event to announce this new partnership was held and was attended by Brahmanand Sankhwalkar, a former international goalkeeper and Bruno Coutinho, another prominent Indian footballer.
Some 48 village teams of children aged 16 and under are taking part in the tournament, which is a part of Coca-Cola India's promotions surrounding the FIFA World Cup in India. [...more]
Coca-Cola in India has launched the Limca Book of Records Quiz 2010 following the huge success it enjoyed last year.
The aim of the quiz is to promote knowledge and awareness amongst the young members of the country's society.
As part of the multi-city initiative, a series of competitions are to take place in 3,500 schools across 100 Indian cities between now and December.

Dada Consumer Products is launching a group of new soft drinks in Bangladesh.
The sister company of Elias Brothers is to manufacture and market the flavoured and carbonated bottled waters, called Icy, from next week, the Financial Express Bangladesh reports.

Limca - a cloudy lemonade brand in India - is to launch a new campaign for summer featuring Bollywood actor Hrishitta Bhatt.
The Splash of Freshness initiative has love at its core and is based on how Limca can spark romance between two strangers.
Ricardo Fort, vice-president of marketing at Coca-Cola India, which owns the brand, said that Limca does not just refresh consumers physically, but emotionally too.
"The new Limca Splash of Freshness summer campaign takes the magic of water-like freshness to the next level by using romance as a key to emotional rejuvenation," he added.

Coca-Cola India has announced Agrani Sanskritik Parishad as the victors in the Sprite Gully Cricket Championship Season II.
The team of young budding cricketers from Durgapur, West Bengal, beat team Annex, from Kolkata, also in West Bengal, to win in the national finals of the competition.
Samar Kar, vice-president of the Cricket Association of Bengal, presented the winner's trophy to the victors at Kolkata's Deshopriya Park.

Coca-Cola India is to launch an integrated communication programme for Fanta, featuring brand ambassador and Bollywood sensation Genelia D'Souza.
This campaign for the fruit-flavoured sparkling beverage is aimed at the youth market and was created by Ajay Gahlot, group creative director at Ogilvy & Mather and Mayur Hola, creative director at the same company.

Reebok has been named as the tournament's Official Apparel Partner and Coca-Cola India will be its Official Beverage Partner.
Coca-Cola India will provide a range of beverages to all of the teams playing in the competition and will also provide drinks in the World Cup's VIP Lounge and Media Centre.

Coca-Cola in India has launched a new beverage under the Minute Maid brand umbrella.
The new Minute Maid Nimbu Fresh is a lemon juice-based drink that includes no added preservatives or colours.
Nimbu Fresh is available in two different sizes - on-the-go 400 ml PET and one litre PET, priced at 15 rupees and 40 rupees (£0.20 and £ 0.54) respectively.
The beverage is being launched in a phased manner and will be initially made available in the state of Tamil Nadu and will undergo a nationwide launch later in 2010.
T Krishnakumar, chief executive officer at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, said: "Innovation has always been the hallmark of Coca-Cola's business strategy in India. The launch of Minute Maid Nimbu Fresh is the latest example."

The government approved a plan by PepsiCo Inc, the world's second biggest beverage maker, to increase its investments in the country by almost a third over the next three years.

NEW DELHI, Dec 30 - India has approved investment plans of Japanese firm Mitsui and Britain's Diageo , the world's biggest spirits company, the finance ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
Mitsui plans to set up a wholly-owned subsidiary and a joint-venture firm in India for a total investment of 3.26 billion rupees ($70 million), the statement said. [...more]
