Taco Bell Limeade Sparklers Prove a Hit

Following soft drinks research, Taco Bell has rolled out its new Limeade Sparklers beverage across its restaurants with much success. The fast-food chain notes that the beverage has proved a hit with its customers, especially during its Happy Hour drink deals, according to QSR Web. Its new Cherry and Classic Limeade drinks, which consist of a naturally flavoured soda poured over ice, are available in either 16 or 20-ounce sizes. Each of the drinks will be complemented by a fresh lime wedge and are intended as a refreshing addition to a meal at the fast-food chain throughout the summer months. [...more]

PepsiCo's has launched AMP Energy Juice, a 100 per cent juice that has the same power as the other drinks in the AMP Energy family. The soft beverage is now being sold in convenience stores and at grocery retailers across America. It is available in 12-ounce single serving re-sealable bottles in a number of flavours, including Orange and Mixed Berry. Absolut Vodka Launches New Flavour

Pernod Ricard's Absolut vodka is to launch a limited edition new flavour in Europe and Asia duty free. Absolut flavour of the tropics will launch at London Heathrow, followed by Paris CDG, Frankfurt and then Barcelona and Istanbul. In Asia, the first launch will be in Singapore's Changi international airport in February, and will then roll out across the continent, reaching Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Korea in March. Pepsico Announces Plans For New Bottling Unit

"This new beverage model will strengthen our position in the global beverage marketplace through a powerful combination of scale, speed, flexibility and efficiency," said Ms Nooyi, who was named president and CEO in October 2006, and assumed the role of chairman and CEO in May 2007. PBNA will comprise all current PBG and PAS operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and will account for about three-quarters of the volume of PepsiCo's North American bottling system, with independent franchisees accounting for the rest. It will be separate from the brand-oriented PepsiCo Americas Beverages unit, which will continue to oversee independent bottlers and Gatorade and Tropicana operations. [...more]

Scotland to trial low-alcohol Guinness Beer

Diageo has announced it is to pilot a low-alcohol version of Guinness in Scotland. Over three months, some 13 pubs, bars and restaurants in Edinburgh and Fife will serve the reduced alcohol drink called Guinness Mid-Strength. The new pint will have an alcohol level of 2.8 per cent ABV, compared with 4.1 per cent ABV in regular Guinness. [...more]
